Doctor Slick™ Cork Grease

Doctor Slick™ Cork Grease is an especially formulated, all natural blend of non-toxic exotic waxes, oils, antioxidants, stabilizers and Slippery Elm Bark Extract (Nature’s Non-Stick), that controls the dimensional stability and water balance of cork while enabling smooth assembly and disassembly of your instrument.  

Cork is a wood product and as such needs special treatment.  Your cork will last longer, remain supple and will not peel, chip or disintegrate if treated properly. Traditional “chap stick" cork greases are a petroleum product that clogs the pores, fine structure and over time reduces the cork's ability to absorb moisture, compress and rebound- this ultimately leads to disintegration of the cork itself, loosening the glue holding the cork on the tenon. Cork needs to maintain a certain moisture content to remain soft and supple. With all natural ingredients, plus Slippery Elm Tree Bark, Nature’s Non-Stick, the product is an ideal cork treatment which is slippery but not greasy, sticky, or smelly and is kind to cork.

A conveniently sized 5.45 gram tube is perfect for casual musicians. A 15 gram (magnum) tube is suited for professional, band, and technician use.
